Waiver Watch:
The Giants’ Wan’dale Robinson has been shining as a replacement for injured wide receiver Malik Nabers. With recent performances of 20 and 16 points, he has risen to top 20 in the position ranks. He is only rostered on 70 percent of teams nationwide. With a tough matchup next week in the Eagles’ secondary, the Giants will surely target their new star wide receiver in Robinson. Due to him being the primary wide receiver now, it is evident that he should be the first or second wide receiver on any given Fantasy team.
The Patriots’secondary wide receiver Keyshoun Boutte has been a great pair with quarterback Drake Maye. He has scored 27 and 14 points in the past two weeks, rising to top 30 in the position ranks, and the team will face the Browns’ inconsistent pass defense next week. While he is in a star receiver room, this just adds how underrated he is. He is only rostered on 30 percent of teams. He is a great option for a team’s secondary or flex position as he starts to heat up this season.
Trade Targets:
The Patriots’ quarterback Drake Maye was electric these past few weeks, scoring more than 20 points in the previous two weeks. With the help of former All-Pro wide receiver Stefon Diggs and talented tight end Hunter Henry, his passes have rendered significantly more yards. With a weak upcoming schedule where he will play against poor pass defenses of the Browns and Bengals, I predict that his performances will only skyrocket from here. Since Maye is quite new to the league, his trade stock is still inexplicably low, so a trade for him is easily achievable.
The Seahawks’ wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba has been amazing this year. Against tough defenses like the Steelers and Texans, he’s averaging 22 points per game (totaling 155 points this season) and is first in the wide receiver position ranks. He shows no signs of slowing down; however, his trade stock has slightly lowered since he has a bye this week. A trade for Njigba would bring numerous points to any fantasy team, which will easily give more wins.
Injury Interruption:
The Commanders’ quarterback Jayden Daniels has not showcased the talent demonstrated during his amazing rookie campaign last year, mainly due to injuries. He suffered another leg injury this season, and he has already been ruled out for his upcoming game. Given these multiple injuries, critics are comparing his lack of success to that of Robert Griffin III. The resemblance between injuries and teams fuel these critics’ thoughts, yet I am hopeful Daniels can recover from this and go beyond.
Blown Bets:
The unsuccessful Dolphins’ quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has been the definition of a bust this season; with only one game higher than 20 points, he had negative 1.4 points last week before being pulled in favor of backup Quinn Ewers. Even if he regains the starting quarterback spot in upcoming games, he faces great defenses like the Falcons and Ravens, who are sure to continue his ill start to the season.
The Chiefs’ running back Kareem Hunt, scoring no more than 20 Fantasy points this season, has been overshadowed by fellow running back Isiah Pacheco. Hunt has fallen to 39th in the position ranks, and only scored two points against the Raiders mediocre run defense. He should not hold a spot on Fantasy teams as the primary running back, let alone the backup. He will surely drop in the ranks, especially because he will play against even harder defenses in the future, like the Commanders and Bills.
Team of The Week:
The Cowboys crushed the Commanders last week. Quarterback Dak Prescott and wide receiver duo of Ceedee Lamb and George Pickens combined for 57 points. Now sitting in second place in the NFC East, they have a weak upcoming schedule, including matchups against teams like the Cardinals, Raiders and Vikings. Hopefully this Pro Bowl trio can continue to perform like they did last week and rise to the top of the NFC East.
Although all these predictions are based on stats and logic, nobody can foresee what will happen in any given Fantasy league. It is up to you as a manager to make your roster choices and hope for the best.
