Applause resonated throughout the Coffee House when Kinkaid senior George Barrow strummed the final chord of Stevie Ray Vaughan’s “Rude Mood.”

“I was definitely nervous to do such a fast-paced piece at first,” Barrow said. “I was afraid that I’d blank out and stop playing in front of a whole crowd, but it turned out well.”

In addition to classical and electric guitar, Barrow has played the double bass for over six years.

“He’s one of the most talented musicians I’ve ever known,” a Kinkaid student said. “Everyone in the audience knew his performance was something special.”

He will be playing for the Kinkaid orchestra on Friday, 6 p.m.

“I’m excited about what’s to come at ISAS,” Barrow said. “I love the idea of having a whole festival dedicated the fine arts. It’s important that we learn to appreciate it.”
