Track Twelve: Sweet Nothing

Swift and Joe Alwyn (Swift’s boyfriend who contributed to the songwriting) did a great job with “Sweet Nothing.” When we listened to this song for the first time, we couldn’t quite take in the lyrics as we could during the second time we listened to it. The quieter tone of this song reminded us of the album folklore. The song is about a person being so in love with someone that nothing else matters to them anymore—“Sweet Nothing” is simply sweet.
