Track Eleven: Karma


This song also reminded us of the happy, upbeat album Lover. The lyrics are catchy.

Throughout the song, Swift repeats “Karma is….,” using metaphors from her life to describe karma—an interesting approach. During one refrain, Swift sings, “Karma is a cat, purring on my lap because it loves me.”

Based on the title of the song, everyone on the Internet thought this song would be directed toward her feud with American rapper Kanye West. However, after listening to the song, we concluded that we disagree. We think this song is too general, and there are not enough references to their “bad blood” for it to be directed at him.
