Mental health among athletes is often a forgotten aspect of sports. While competing, student-athletes encounter performance anxiety and recruitment pressures. Many also struggle to maintain a healthy balance between their sleep schedules, social lives, academics and sports.

On Dec. 16, members of the cross country team participated in the third annual Milk Mile challenge. In between each of the four laps, runners consumed one glass of whole milk, chocolate milk or eggnog while trying to a complete a mile as fast as possible.

On Oct. 8, the Mavs beat Episcopal 24-20 for the first time since 2011.
Senior John Avery Foutch roars as the Mavs score against the Knights. “Beating Episcopal was very exciting and helped set the standard for the younger players,” Foutch said, “but ultimately it’s just another stepping stone on our road to SPC.”
